Retaining Walls

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls are our specialty. We seek to provide the best design-build earth retention solutions for commercial and residential customers across the region. We travel much of the Northwest to take on big, challenging retaining wall projects. We work with a number of different wall systems and are able to utilize value engineering principles to design and construct the best grade-change solution for your site. Whether it is a small landscape wall or a structural wall supporting a building load, we can build the best, most cost-effective solution for your site.

Modular Block Walls

Modular block walls or small block walls are often the best all-around system for sites involving large walls. Typically, a modular block wall is reinforced by the means of geogrid behind the wall. The combination of block facing, geogrid, and well-compacted soil produces a structure that can be engineered to hold up mass amounts of soil and even large structures.

Big Block Walls

Big block walls provide a premium wall facing that will stand up for years to come. Big block holds up excellently against salt and the elements in instances where a dry-cast block may degrade. The aesthetics of these products is unmatched. Due to the sheer size of the units, it also provides a wall with a higher degree of internal stability. Because of the weight of the block, large gravity walls can be built to larger heights without the need for geogrid reinforcement. This reduces the overall excavation needed on many wall projects. The Redi-Rock system is most common in these situations, but there are several products on the market to be used in these instances.

Welded Wire Wall and Gabion

Welded wire face walls and gabion walls often are the most simple retaining wall systems. They function similarly to normal geogrid reinforced walls or gravity walls, but utilize wire facing and crushed rock instead of precast concrete. They are exceptional for sites where differential settlement is likely as the facing allows for more flex than block walls. They are also very popular for rural projects to save on trucking costs. There are many different applications these walls can be designed for.
